ONMI Updates on the Completion of the BNPA Dormitories

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Yeshua,

Shalom and greetings to you in the name of Yeshua the Messiah. I am reporting from South Sudan, where we are implementing the vision of Operation Nehemiah Missions. Like Nehemiah, who faced opposition in rebuilding Yerushalayim's wall, we encounter challenges in rebuilding South Sudan both physically and spiritually, as the nation recovers from decades of conflict. With your support, ONMI has made significant strides in aiding Christian families returning from refugee camps.

We provide services such as raising national pastors, establishing Christian schools, Gospel radio broadcasting, and promoting organic agriculture to ensure food security. A current priority is completing the dormitories for Bethlehem Nursery and Primary Academy (BNPA). Since receiving funds on October 17, 2025, the project has progressed steadily. This post outlines the construction process, challenges, and teamwork involved.

Significant Progress in BNPA Dormitories and Bioseptic Bathroom Construction

The primary highlight is exceptionally promising. We are on the brink of completing the construction of all four BNPA Dormitories and the Bioseptic bathrooms in two buildings, effectively addressing the sanitation and hygiene challenges faced by our students and teachers. The great news is that all four dormitories are nearly finished. We need just an additional $30,000 to complete the plastering of all four buildings. Your support and prayers for this need would be greatly appreciated. Each building requires $7,500 for plastering the walls, ceilings, and all finishing touches. We plan to relocate students from the defunct Borongole Secondary School when they return for the second term in mid-May.

Completion of Bio-Septic Sanitation Systems in School Bathrooms Enhances Health and Hygiene

Sanitation systems for retrofitting the existing buildings for both boys' and girls' bathrooms with Digestive Bio-septic system, focusing on providing clean and accessible facilities for students are completed this week and the students started using them. These systems are critical for health and hygiene, especially in communal living spaces.

Construction Overview

Essential equipment like the Hydrafoam block-making machine was repaired, and specialists were hired for various construction tasks, including laying foundations, sourcing timber, and wiring dormitories. The project broke ground in December 2025, with four dormitories planned to improve ventilation and safety. By January 2026, foundations were laid, and by March, roofing was completed. The final stages involve electrical wiring, window and door installation, and sanitation systems. If all goes well according to plan and God's will, it will have taken us just six months by May to complete the construction of BNPA dormitories which is right on time and on Budget.

Challenges and Solutions

The project faced unexpected challenges, including a tight deadline to vacate the previous premises by December 31, 2025. Community negotiations extended the deadline to May 2026. Leadership changes and practical adjustments, like simplifying the roofing style, helped keep the project on track. Equipment breakdowns required importing parts and using manual labor.

Lessons Learned

  • Engage stakeholders early to prevent conflict.

  • Be open to leadership changes for fresh perspectives.

  • Adapt plans to save time and money.

  • Monitor progress closely for timely solutions.

  • Balance community needs with project goals.

The spiritual impact of your support is profound. BNPA is more than an academic institution; it is a foundation for promoting the Gospel. Many students come from non-Christian backgrounds, but through discipleship and Biblical teachings, they leave BNPA grounded in God's Word.
