Shalom to you Brothers and Sisters in Yeshua, this past weekend, we conducted Baptism or immersion with combined services of the Nile Beth Israel Messianic

Kehillah of Beth Israel Levi of Akko Mountains, Bethlehem-Borongole, and the Messiah Ambassadors House in Kerepi Mutala at Beth Israel Messianic Kehillah of Aswa RIVER BRIDGE, strategically located on the Nimule-Juba Highway. We proudly welcomed 32 born-again believers into the Kingdom of Elohim in Yeshua the Messiah, in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Matthew 28:18-20, Acts 1:8, Romans 10:9-17, Genesis 3:15, John 3, Matthew 3, and Isaiah 9:6-7 perfectly fulfill the Great Commission.

Matthew 28:19-20

Biblical immersion holds profound significance for believers in Yeshua, as it unites two worlds: the Jewish roots of immersion (mikvah) and the Messiah-centered meaning revealed in the New Testament. This practice is both deeply Biblical and fully centered on Yeshua (Jesus).

Core importance of Baptism by Immersion

For believers in Yeshua, baptism (immersion) is a covenant act expressing repentance, spiritual cleansing, public allegiance to Yeshua the Messiah, and entry into His community—rooted in the ancient Biblical mikvah tradition and fulfilled in the New Covenant in Yeshua.

1. Biblical Root: Baptism = Mikvah

Long before Christianity, immersion (mikvah) was a Hebraic ritual symbolizing:

  • Purification

  • Repentance

  • Transition into a new spiritual state

  • Preparation for encountering God

Immersion marked legal and spiritual transitions—moving from impurity to purity, from outsider to belonging.

2. Immersion as Identification with the Messiah

In the New Testament, immersion becomes the way a disciple publicly identifies with:

  • Yeshua’s death

  • His burial

  • His resurrection

Paul’s teaching in Romans 6 is central: immersion symbolizes dying to sin and rising to new life. Messianic teachers interpret this through the lens of Jewish mikvah imagery—a rebirth into Messiah’s covenant community.

3. A Public Pledge of Loyalty to King Yeshua

In the early Messianic understanding, immersion was a public declaration of allegiance:

  • “Yeshua is my Messiah.”

  • “I belong to His Kingdom.”

  • “My life is now under His authority.”

This was not merely symbolic—it was a covenant act witnessed by the community.

4. Spiritual Cleansing and Repentance

Immersion represents:

  • Turning away from sin

  • Receiving forgiveness

  • Beginning a transformed life

Acts 2:38 connects repentance, immersion, and forgiveness—an idea that aligns perfectly with Jewish mikvah symbolism.

Core vision of Operation Nehemiah Missions

What to pray for:

Aswa River Bridge needs a worship center. The Christian Community in Aswa River Bridge requested ONMI mission to build them a small Church to service as a worship center. Aswa river Bridge is spiritual strategic place on the Nimule- Juba- Kampala, highway connecting East Africa to South Sudan.

Pray for me as I plan to return to the USA in the second week of June.

Pray that the work of the mission of ONMI will continue to move forward during the time I will be away in the USA.

Pray for our field staff and stake holders of ONMI/ BIMK as they embark on creating and implementing the vision of ONMI for the long term.

Pray for ONMI's equipment and infrastructures to be operational as our main vehicle that we used to get out in and out of the farm has developed serious mechanical problem.

Pray that ONMI will be able to raise $45,000 need May through June.
